LiDAR scenes

These are working views from the LiDAR perception pipeline, not production-ready traffic results. The pipeline still produces too many split tracks and unstable trails. We are improving the clustering and tracking; until those settle, a tidy line on the screen remains a tidy line on the screen.

Each scene comes from a real street recording and shows position, size, heading and speed without collecting camera images, faces or number plates. The map marks every site the sensor has stood at; choose a point to inspect the current work.

25 of the 25 sites here have a published recording; the rest are places the sensor has been, shown so the map answers where it has been rather than only what there is to watch. With permission, the background uses cycling routes from CyclOSM, hosted by OSM France, and follows your device's light or dark appearance. Without it, the local coastline and S2 geometry remain. Each point is one recorded site. Click it for the name and, where there is a recording, a link to it. Points carry no labels on the map: at this zoom a label covers the street it stands on, and the street is the thing worth seeing. Each site is listed below with its S2 level 13 cell, about a kilometre across, under a heading for the level 10 area that contains it.

The cells come from S2, which divides the globe into a hierarchy of cells and names each one with a token. A token is shown here as 80858-0f4, hyphenated only to make the shared prefix easy to compare; the hyphen carries no meaning and the canonical token is 808580f4. Every token on this page is derived from the scene's recorded position, so a cell and the position it indexes cannot disagree.
